Barry Baillie – A Sadly Missed Colleague
The President and CEO of the Accommodation Association of Australia have expressed their sincere condolences to the Baillie family and the team at the Caravan and Camping Industry Association NSW (CCIA) following the sudden passing of CEO Barry Baillie last week.
“On behalf of the Accommodation Association board and staff, I would like to express our sincere and heartfelt sentiments at the loss of a very hardworking colleague”, said Accommodation Association CEO Richard Munro.
CCIA and the Accommodation Association (formerly HMAA) have a long history of collaboration and have developed a close working relationship over the years. Accommodation Association President, Garry Crockett, commented upon the many occasions when the two industry associations have worked together for common outcomes in a sometimes divided industry.
“Barry's focus was firmly on improving quality and service standards within the sector. He has made an enormously valuable contribution to the sector and for that we are extremely grateful”, commented Mr Crockett.
“Barry was a passionate advocate for the accommodation industry, championing the modernisation of the caravan and camping sector and taking a proactive role as a spokesperson promoting the interests of holiday park owners and operators. For taking on this task, he will always be remembered with great respect and admiration by his colleagues”.
“Barry will be a sadly missed figure in the industry as a strong campaigner for the caravan and camping sector and a defender of the traditional family holiday experience. Once again, our condolences go to his family and friends.”
