About 75 tourism professionals and travel writers participated in Community Marketing's 1st Asian Symposium on Gay & Lesbian Tourism, 28 November, at the Le Meridien Hotel in New Delhi, India. Representing IGLTA at the groundbreaking event were India Ambassador Abhinav Goel of gay tour company Out Journeys and Media Relations Manager LoAnn Halden, who also participated in an LGBT press tour. A lively debate ensued around a variety of marketing and panel discussions on opening up Asia for gay tourism; the program also included a keynote speech from Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, who made headlines as the first prince in India to come out publicly as gay.
