Garuda Indonesia introduces new reservation and ticketing system

Wednesday, 29 February 2012

Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia’s national carrier, is introducing a new reservation and ticketing system to further enhance and streamline its operations worldwide.

The new computer reservations system will result in a more seamless reservation processes, reduction in check-in times, and advanced level of service for Garuda Indonesia’s customers.

This migration is in line with previous investments, such as Garuda Indonesia’s existing fleet revitalisation program, and will ensure that the carrier is well prepared for its entry into the SkyTeam Alliance in 2013.

The transition to the new computer system will take place on Wednesday, February 29 at approximately 09.00pm Jakarta time, 1.00am EST and will interrupt Garuda Indonesia’s online booking and check-in facilities for a short period of time.

Garuda Indonesia flights to and from Australia will operate as normal, as the upgrade will not impact aircraft systems. In the transition period, Garuda Indonesia’s worldwide call centres may experience higher than normal call volumes.

The new system will form one of the first customer touch points of The Garuda Indonesia Experience, the carrier’s service concept that offers a uniquely Indonesian level of service on the ground and inflight. Garuda Indonesia will continue to invest in enhancing its service offerings in order to become a five star carrier by 2015.
