Wednesday, 29 February 2012

Deb-Duncan

Deb Duncan, General Manager of Travel Counsellors Australia has just successfully completed her first round of Service Fee training with the country’s agents. Always looking for ways to do things better and to learn how to work smarter not harder, the agents have embraced the tailored training and already started putting what they have learnt to good use.  Better still there has already been a number of success stories coming through to the company’s head office from agents that have taken the tips and lessons learned on board and are now reaping the financial and confidence boosting rewards.

Claire Phillips, Travel Counsellor, Ringwood North, VIC comments “It’s the best training I have ever done, it’s given me a clear direction and so much confidence.  It really helped highlight to me the value we offer our clients and how we differ from other agents.”  Claire went on to say that she would be keeping her notes from the training on hand and refer to them with every new enquiry she gets so that she can build a solid business with clients that appreciate her expertise and professional service.

Gold Travel Counsellor, Chris Jenkins, Eltham, VIC commented, “I found the whole thing one of the best training sessions I had been to since starting my business, the information gathered and shared on how to discuss with the client where the industry is heading, how we can justify the fees and give them what they need.  It was great to be able to bounce off of fellow colleagues who are like minded when it comes to the consideration of their clients. Deb is very thorough with her training and with the expertise that she offers from vast experience in the industry we have a great leader and teacher. Cannot recommend the training highly enough to my fellow TC’s”.

Eleanor Lamdin,Travel Counsellor, Morphett Vale, SA also commented on the company message board; “Hi All, Really this course is a must and should be mandatory if you want to succeed! It is certainly the most impressive course I have ever done in all my years in travel.
Thank you Deb for passing on all your golden information.”

Other TC’s who attended the course that ran over 2 days throughout the country shared the same sentiments on the company message boards. This has now lead to more training dates added to an already busy 2012 calendar and Deb will run them again in the coming months.

The training focused on the positive reasons why service fees should be charged, and ensuring the client understands where the industry is heading and the importance of good advice and dealing with someone you trust.  The training also included each TC completing a Myers Briggs personality profile where they learnt how to deal with difference personality types and adapt their approach accordingly. With lots of laughter coming from the training room, it proved to be a great success!
