Technology is just one part of the total package

Wednesday, 7 March 2012

Coinciding with the launch of their latest marketing campaign, Travel Counsellors are currently highlighting their technology as just one part of the total offering by the company for all new franchisees. While other home based groups are making “world first” claims and battling it out over who did it first, Travel Counsellors prefer to share the real facts, and use real Travel Counsellors to tell their story and share the company success, as they are the true brand ambassadors of the business.

“We encourage anyone looking at our business model to contact any of our TC’s throughout the network, you can look up all of our TC’s on their individual webpage’s we provide them free of charge as part of our offering, via our company website www.travelcounsellors.com.au where you can read about their experience, expertise, read their travel diaries as well as look at their travel photo albums and read their customer testimonials..” comments Kerryn Murphy, National Recruitment Executive.

The home-based travel company started back in 1994 in the UK, and technology has been one of the key factors to the company’s success to date, as well as a major contributor to it’s expansion into a further 5 countries, including Australia in 2007.  Without technology the business model would not have grown to include over 1200 agents working all over the globe, with currently over 40 dedicated IT support staff, including network administrators, developers, programmers, project managers, data administrators, help desk, web executives to name a few.

All Travel Counsellors around the world are given a free webpage, their own secure client management system (contact centre) which is custom built into their personalised intranet page.  They have direct links from their intranet page to their social media networking images, already pre-programmed for them to upload as they wish. There is also a host of templates sitting in their contact centre, with a library of unlimited images for each TC to personalise a message/e-card/newsletter/e-shot/hot offer etc to a client.  Travel Counsellors head office also produce weekly E-Blasts and send to each TC’s database on the TC’s behalf, personalised from each TC’s email address.

Travel Counsellor Kate Trickett, Belmont VIC comments “It really is just a touch of a button and a personalised information sheet is sent to my clients.  As a mum of 2 young boys, and a business owner, I am conscious of portraying the most professional image to my clients, and Travel Counsellors just make it so easy with their technology and automated systems.  I have never seen anything like it in the travel industry. The marketing tools available and what head office do for us is just amazing and has really given me the best possible start to my business.”

Another success story of how well the technology works comes from recently joined Travel Counsellor, Debbie Oram, Upper Coomera who commented “I got a call from the Broome E-Card Mailshot, for an enquiry to Paris for a surprise Wedding Anniversary trip.  Just by keeping in touch with the regular special offers that head office produce for us!”

There are so many success stories that highlight the technology offered to Travel Counsellors, Australian IT Manager Matthew Cox comments “Everyone claims to have the best and latest technology, but we really are dedicated to being a leader in the field, especially when it comes to servicing our home-based agents, we have won awards that prove it, but what matters most is that the TC’s benefit from what we provide.”
