Tauck Adds Complimentary Hotel Nights to 2013 Journeys

Wednesday, 2 May 2012

Tauck, the leader in premium-quality guided land journeys and cruises, is giving its Australian customers the one thing all travellers crave – more time to explore the destination they’re visiting.  Through the company’s Time On Tauck promotion, Australians can extend their travels by adding two complimentary hotel nights to either the beginning or the end of their 2013 Tauck land journey or cruise.

What’s more, the offer includes a special “multiplier” component making it particularly well-suited for Australian travellers, and allowing them to amass even more free hotel nights.  The component allows travellers to take two or more Tauck journeys during an extended vacation and earn two complimentary hotel nights with each of those Tauck trips.  “We know our Australian customers typically take longer holidays, and they’ll often visit multiple destinations during a single, extended trip away from home,” said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar.  “Time on Tauck is an incredible way for our Australian guests to earn four, six or even more free hotel nights while enjoying multiple Tauck trips.”

Mahar noted that the value of a single two-night hotel stay at Tauck’s featured hotels could typically surpass $1,000 AUD, and that reservations at many of the properties are often difficult for independent travellers to secure because of the hotels’ popularity.  He added that Tauck’s hotels are also some of the world’s finest.  “Our hotels are landmark properties with convenient, city-center locations in popular destinations,” said Mahar.  “Just a few of the hotels where our guests can enjoy complimentary stays include the Westin Excelsior in Rome, the Mena House Oberoi in Cairo, the Regent in Beijing the Ritz-Carlton in Santiago, and the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.”  Mahar noted that the Tauck offer also has the practical benefit of giving travellers a chance to rest and adjust to the local time prior to their tour or cruise.

The Time On Tauck offer is for Australian residents only, and it applies to 2013 departures of nearly 100 Tauck land tours, European river cruises and small ship ocean cruises.  (The only Tauck itineraries not included in the offer are special Tauck Events, Christmas Market river cruises, and “Cuba: Connecting With People and Culture.”)  To qualify for the complimentary nights, Australian residents must book their 2013 Tauck journey between now and December 30, 2012.

Travellers taking multiple Tauck trips to earn additional nights must redeem those free nights at the beginning and/or end of the trips on which they were earned (i.e. rather than redeeming all six nights at the beginning or end of three tours taken consecutively).  Complimentary hotel rooms are subject to availability, and other terms apply.  The additional hotel nights are offered at the same hotels already featured at the beginning or conclusion of Tauck’s journeys, and include complimentary airport transfers.

CELEBRATING 25 YEARS WITH TRAVEL THE WORLD
The Time on Tauck offer comes as the U.S.-based tour and cruise operator is celebrating 25 years in partnership with Travel The World as its exclusive agent in Australia.  Tauck is marking the anniversary with an increased emphasis on reaching and servicing the Australian market through efforts including the Time on Tauck offer, the earlier release of dates and pricing for its more popular itineraries, and other initiatives still to be announced.
