May Milestone on Expedia TAAP

Monday, 18 June 2012

May figures for Expedia TAAP have been released showing a new “peak” month at over 96% above May 2011 figures. Europe has been the prime destination so far this year and still reports to be the dominant region. There are signs of other destinations catching up as London moved from the top destination 2 weeks ago to 5th position last week. A total of 142 different destinations were booked last week with 37% Europe, 24% America, 21% SEA, 16% Oceania and 2% LATAM.

“London is still performing strongly and we still have plenty of Last Minute availability for the Olympics” said Stuart Udy who heads Expedia TAAP in APAC. “We have over 860 hotels showing availability over the Olympic period. 94 London Hotels are offering Deals through July so there’s plenty of room for a bargain.”

There are about 1,200 “deals” across Europe at the moment through Expedia TAAP so there are plenty of “After Olympics” follow on destinations to choose from.

The Visit California with Expedia TAAP promotion is running through June. Consultants need to complete the California Expert, online training module through the Visit California and complete 3 California bookings to qualify for a $100 Travel credit for their own use.

“Both SFO and LAX appeared in the top 10 destinations last week,” said Stuart, “but we’ve had plenty of bookings for region CA as well.”
