4 out of 5 times an Expedia TAAP member visits the Expedia Australia website, they make a booking. This staggering conversion rate combined with the doubling of transaction numbers has remained consistent for the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program throughout 2012. “OTA’s in general and even GDS companies only dream about conversion rates at this level” says Stuart Udy Manager of the Expedia TAAP. “It very emphatically says, the Travel Agents, find the product they are looking for on Expedia.” Expedia TAAP has seen two record weeks in turnover this month bolstered by Expedia’s current Global Sale rates which are running till then end of this month. Destination split is approximately 30% EMEA, 30% USA and 20% each for Asia and Oceania. The number of Agents continues to grow strongly month on month but most importantly the agents start booking straight away once they join. “We are very pleased with the current rate of transactional growth” said Stuart “but we are even more pleased with the positive feedback we get from our members. Expedia provide an end to end service. We have locally based staff responsible for every destination. We aren’t hashing up someone else’s product with a faceless technical interface. We pride ourselves that Agents booking through us have the confidence that it’s Expedia product they are selling and Expedia staff are on hand locally and in the destination to make sure everything is OK.” Here’s one of dozens of comments from one of our members. “Expedia makes me the world’s best travel agent.
