Air Austral and Air Mauritius confirm their code-share project on Australia (Perth ) on Air Mauritius aircraft. This cooperation is awaiting the final approval of the competent Authorities before being implemented. Through this code-share, Air Austral will maintain a commercial presence on the Reunion Australia route. The last flight operated by Air Austral for Reunion -Sydney -Noumea will be flight UU 951 of 12 th August 2012 and the last flight Noumea-Sydney -Reunion-Paris will be flight UU 952 of 14th June 2012. Air Mauritius operates 2 flights per week on Perth and offers connecting flights on many destinations in Australia thanks to its partnership with Virgin Australia .A third flight is scheduled in April next ,which would then provide even more flexibility and choice to clients of the two airlines. Marie-Joseph Male, President of the Directoire of Air Austral and Andre Viljoen ,Acting CEO in a joint statement said :"We are pleased that that our two airlines have been able to come to an agreement on this cooperation on the Australia route. It enables to maintain the presence of Air Austral in Australia and comforts the existing operations of Air Mauritius on Perth. It demonstrates also the willingness of both companies to work together in a difficult period so as to propose travel solutions to their passengers." |
