Itinerary
Day 1 : Australia/ Delhi
Fly from Australia to Delhi, the capital city of India. Upon your arrival at Delhi international airport, you will be escorted to your hotel.
 
Day 2 : Delhi B/L/D
This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, visiting Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; enjoy a rikshaw ride in Chandani Chownk, one of the largest trading centres of India; drive past Red Fort and visit Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. This afternoon, visit spectacular sights of New Delhi, such as Qutab Minar, a fine example of Indo-Islamic architecture; Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the largest Sikh temple of Delhi; take a photo stop at India Gate and drive past President´s House and other Government Secretariat Buildings, the grand structures of Lutyen´s Delhi.
 
Day 3 : Delhi / Varanasi B/L/D
After breakfast, catch your flight to Varanasi, the spiritual capital of India. This afternoon, visit Sarnath, the land where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after his enlightenment. The Ashoka pillar of Sarnath is the national emblem of India. Visit the ruins, stupa, Buddhist temple and the Sarnath Museum. This evening, experience a rikshaw ride to the ghats to enjoy a fascinating sunset ritual where holy men worship River Ganges with flowers, incense and lamps in a ceremony called ´the Ganga Aarti´.
 
Day 4 : Varanasi / Khajuraho B/L/D
Rise early this morning for a sunrise dawn cruise on the Holy River Ganges. See the ´bathing ghats´ where thousands of pilgrims pay homage to the Sun God by immersing themselves in the holy water of River Ganges, and the ´burning ghats´ where cremations are conducted. After breakfast, catch your flight to the sculptured temple city of Khajuraho. This afternoon visit the enchanting temples of Khajuraho built by the Chandela Dynasty in the 9th and 10th century. This evening, enjoy the famous cultural dance show of Khajuraho.
 
Day 5 : Khajuraho/Orchha/Jhansi/Agra B/L/D
After breakfast, drive to Orchha, a charming riverside town famous for its shrines and temples such as Jahangir Mahal and Laxmi Narayan Temple. After a brief tour of Orchha, continue drive to Jhansi train station and board your express train to the Mughal city of Agra, home to the beautiful wonder of the world, the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival in Agra, check in at your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.
 
Day 6 : Agra B/L/D
Today experience the epitome of your Gems of North India Tour, with a dawn visit to the Taj Mahal. Built in the 18th century by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal is the worlds´ most famous and most beautiful memorial. This afternoon explore Agra fort, which was built in red sandstone in the 16th century. Later visit marble inlay workshops and enjoy shopping in this historic city of love. This evening watch an extraordinary theatre performance "Mohabbat-the-Taj", a drama narrating the story of the Taj and staging the largest replica of the Taj Mahal.
 
Day 7 : Agra/Jaipur B/L/D
Proceed to the regal splendour of your Gems of North India Tour, with a visit to Jaipur, the pink city of Rajasthan. En-route to Jaipur, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the crowning glory of Emperor Akbar´s architectural legacy, built in red sandstone, with numerous palaces, halls, and structures exemplifying the creativity of erstwhile Mughal emperors. This afternoon, take a heritage walk in the old city of Jaipur. Then visit gems, jewels and carpet weaving factories - watch artisans perfecting their extravagant ancestral art. You also get the opportunity for some souvenir shopping.
 
Day 8 : Jaipur B/L/D
Spend the day exploring Jaipur, starting with a morning visit to the splendid Amber fort, a fine example of Rajput architecture built in the 16th century. An elephant ride (subject to availability) will help you ascend to this hilltop fort. This afternoon take a photo stop at Hawa Mahal, the 5 storied palace of winds, popular for its innumerable windows and screened balconies. Visit the City Palace complex, reflecting the architectural exuberance of Jaipur. The complex consists of a variety of museums and a part of the palace is still the royal residence. Also visit Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory.
 
Day 9 : Jaipur / Deogarh B/L/D
After breakfast, embark on a leisurely drive to Deogarh for an enriching Rajasthani village experience. This afternoon, take a rural walk exploring the village of Deogarh, where you get a chance to interact with local villagers. Spend the evening relaxing in the luxury of your palatial hotel in Deogarh.
 
Day 10 : Deogarh / Udaipur B/L/D
Drive to Udaipur, a romantic city nestled in the scenic valley of Aravali hills, famous as the lake city of Rajasthan. En-route, make a brief stop to visit the massive Kumbalgarh fort, built in the 15th century. Also visit the famous Jain temples at Ranakpur, known for their grand structures and exquisite sculptures. The main temple in the complex, Chaumukha Temple (Four Faced Temple), has 29 halls supported by 1444 intricately carved pillars, no two alike. Upon arrival at Udaipur, relax and enjoy an evening at leisure.
 
Day 11 : Udaipur B/L/D
Spend the morning discovering Udaipur, visiting the City Palace, one of the largest palace complex in Rajasthan; Saheliyon-Ki-Bari, the beautiful garden of the maids of honour; and Jagdish Temple, showcasing fine examples of sculpted images and ornamented interiors. Later this afternoon, take a boat cruise at Lake Pichola (subject to water level), viewing the sparkling white marble Lake Palace in the vicinity.
 
Day 12 : Udaipur / Mumbai B/L/D
Catch your flight to Mumbai, the commercial centre and celluloid capital of India. This afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Mumbai visiting the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India, Gandhi museum, the bustling Dhobi Ghats, and Crawford market.
 
Day 13 : Mumbai B/L
After breakfast, take a ferry ride to Elephanta Island to visit to the rock cut cave temples, which date back to 550 A.D. The Elephanta caves were sculpted in honour of Lord Shiva and stand as testimony to the immaculate art of rock cut sculptures in ancient India. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in Mumbai
 
Day 14 : Mumbai / Australia B
Morning at leisure in Mumbai. Late checkout till 6pm, then transfer to International Airport for your mid-night flight back home via Singapore.
 
Day 15 : Australia
Arrive Australia.
