VA to share Indonesia, NZ capacity

Tuesday, 25 September 2012

Virgin Australia (VA) has applied for codesharing agreements on both its Indonesian and New Zealand routes.

VA submitted codesharing applications to the International Air Services Commission (IASC) in reference to its strategic alliances with Delta Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

Delta Airlines intends to offer codeshare services on selected Virgin Australia flights operating on the Indonesian route, while Singapore Airlines has planned to codeshare on the New Zealand route.

VA has requested the IASC consider the applications against the general criteria for assessing the benefit to the public, outlined in the Minister’s Policy Statement.

Virgin Australia’s alliances with Delta and Singapore Airlines have been approved by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
