Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines code share

Tuesday, 9 October 2012

Travellers from Adelaide can enjoy Moscow with a seamless connection thanks to Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines codeshare plans.

Travellers from Adelaide will now have greater access to the UK and Europe with Virgin Australia planning to expand its code share on Singapore Airlines from the City of Churches.

The expansion will add to the already 30 destinations available onwards from Singapore connecting from the ten services out of Adelaide.

Virgin Australia alliances group executive Merren McArthur said the focus on South Australia is key to providing Virgin Australia customers in Adelaide with an extensive international network.

“With a quick one-stop service through Singapore, our customers will be able to connect seamlessly to important business and leisure destinations including London and Paris and earn frequent flyer points and status credits in the process,” Ms McArthur said.

Singapore Airlines regional vice president Subhas Menon expressed delight with the expanded partnership, saying customers in South Australia can enjoy optimal transit times as well as a range of same day travel options.

Virgin Australia will move quickly to implement the code share services as soon as regulatory approval is granted in coming months.

The additional destinations will include:

•          Amsterdam
•          Barcelona
•          Copenhagen
•          Frankfurt
•          London – Heathrow
•          Manchester
•          Milan [interline]
•          Moscow
•          Munich
•          Paris
