Discover The World Marketing - sales & product coordinator

Our Australian office represents a variety of airlines, hotel chains, a cruise line and other global travel companies.

We currently have an opening for a Sales & Product Coordinator. The role is an exciting travel industry position working with our niche cruise clients and assisting in developing our cruise wholesale programs.

The role’s key accountabilities include:

  • Support Sales Manager– Cruise with the development of cruise tour packages and new itineraries incl. supplier liaison and provision of content and pricing.
  • Act as internal and external point of contact regarding product loading /display enquiries.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis on competitor programs and products and maintain related internal documentation.
  • Liaise with internal departments regarding special offers, new itineraries, changes to existing programs and competitor activities in Australia.
  • Update internal supplier and product lists incl. pricing sheets, supplier contact database etc.
  • Update and manage client database.
  • Conduct product updates and travel agent briefings via technology (e.g. telephone, webinars etc) and occasional face to face interaction (e.g. sales calls or sales blitzes).
  • Attend Expos and Trade Shows as required.
  • Forge good business relations with agents and other business partners through prompt service and operational support.
  • In conjunction with the Ops team, proactively manage and escalate client issues and ensure appropriate solutions are found and implemented.
  • Assist Sales Manager – Cruise with completion of cruise reports.
  • Analyse clients’ data, identify potential issues and opportunities and develop plans in conjunction with Sales Manager - Cruise.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Minimum of 3years experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent written/spoken English.
  • Dynamic, outgoing personality with high degree of customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Sound numeric literacy and analytical ability.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, highly independent, innovative, creative and results-oriented.
  • Team player who likes to share knowledge and collaborate with team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and to handle pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excels kills & basic work experience with other MS office suite of products.
  • Ability to complete reports & to compile spreadsheets using data and information from different sources.
  • Familiarity with the cruise travel industry an advantage.
