Sydney-based AVIAREPS Oceania has been appointed in Australia as the PR representative for the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.

Addressing the appointment, AVIAREPS Oceania Director Alison Roberts-Brown said, “We are excited about the possibility of putting Mauritius in the spotlight and the many wonderful experiences that it has to offer. We are looking forward to promoting Mauritius as a truly exotic destination for Australians seeking rich cultural diversity with world class luxury in a tropical island paradise”.

In the past thirty years, Mauritius has developed from a low-income economy based on agriculture to a middle-income diversified economy. Much of this economic growth has been the result of the expansion of the luxury tourism sector. Mauritius was mainly dependent on the sugar and textiles industries, as world sugar prices declined and the production of textiles became economically unfeasible, the government decide to expand the tourist industry.

Visitors to Mauritius are fascinated by the contrast of colours, cultures and tastes that make this island paradise in the Indian Ocean.  Named after Dutch Prince Maurice Van Nassau, Mauritius offers unparalleled luxury with 4 and 5 star resorts, world renowned spas, championship  golf courses, adventure activities, surfing, diving, sailing, European shopping and much more. Tourists often find themselves in a state of delight and surprise as they tour this incredibly culturally diverse tropical paradise.
