In a sudden move, Jetset Travelworld has announced the restructuring of its wholesale operations that will see the division of business and the departure of current group general manager Simon Bernardi. Releasing plans earlier this morning, Jetset Travelworld Limited chief executive Peter Lacaze said effective immediately Mr Bernardi will step down from his post and wholesale businesses Travel Indochina, ATS Pacific and the FIT would be divided and managed as separate divisions. Relocating from Los Angeles to Australia over the coming months, current president of Stella Travel Services USA, Michael Londregan will run the FIT division which includes; Qantas Holidays, VIVA, Harvey’s Choice, Wholesale Australia, USA and Global Product Purchasing. Wholesale business Travel Indochina will continue to operate under current managing director (MD) Paul Hole as ATS Pacific will operate under the leadership of Col Hughes. With the three MDs reporting directly to Mr Lacaze, the head added that although Mr Bernardi would leave the company he “has generously agreed to work closely with... [the team] to achieve a smooth transition”. Meanwhile as Mr Londregan moves to Australia, Stella Travel Services USA current chief financial officer Gary Goeldner will replace the head as Acting President. Stella Travel Services USA includes Qantas Vacations, Travel2, Islands in the Sun and Travelscene. |
