Qantas international surcharges and domestic fares will once again increase due to high global fuel prices.

From April 5 the average fare increase on Qantas and QantasLink flights will be 5 percent, depending on the route and fare class.

Qantas Frequent Flyer’s will also be affected as surcharges on Classic Award redemption tickets will increase by $4 domestically and $10 for Trans-Tasman flights.

This is the second increase in the space of two months by the Qantas Group, after announcing increases in fuel surcharges in February.

Jetstar are also poised to increase surcharges within the Singapore and Australian markets due to the hike in fuel costs.
