A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination
- Nelson Mandela

The true spirit of Mandela Day was celebrated last night at a special fundraising event hosted by Lucky Tsotsi Shebeen and Bar, highlighting that each person has the power to change the world one small step at a time.

Guests from the travel and tourism industry joined South African Tourism in raising over $1700 from the sale of food and drinks for the Eniwe Children’s Fund, a charity close to Lucky Tsotsi’s heart. Kira Sachs from The Classic Safari Company also took home a fantastic celebration hamper donated by South African Tourism that was raffled off on the night.

Mandela Day is all about inspiring individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good. Ultimately it seeks to empower communities everywhere.
Mr Mandela turned 94 on July 18, and has spent 67 years making the world a better place.

In addition to the event, South African Tourism has been holding an online competition to celebrate the inspiring words of Nelson Mandela for its Facebook fans.
