Regional airlines in South East Asia, operating within the Philippines are allowing customers to rebook flights without cancellation fees or other penalties.
Severe weather conditions in Manilla have caused torrential rain, deep flooding and extensive damage to infrastructure and residential areas.
Airlines including Philippine Airlines, AirPhil Express, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air and Philippines’ AirAsia waived rebooking fees.
Philippine Airlines (PAL) said it will waive rebooking fees for passengers who are unable to make their flights due to the floods.
Cebu Pacific allowed for customers to rebook flights within 30 days or store the value of their booking in a travel fund without any fees.
AirPhil Express also decided to waive any rebooking costs for passengers departing from Manila and Clark airports.
Zest Air offered customers the opportunity to rebook their flights within 30 days minus penalties or obtain a full refund.
Philippines' AirAsia said passengers could rebook their flights for free.
The rebooking fees were only waived for flights departing on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
