Germany’s Top 100 App-tractions
Sydney, 20 August 2012 – The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) has launched their Top 100 mobile app to help tourists discover the country’s most popular tourist attractions. The GNTB’s first mobile app for Android and iOS devices includes a brief description of each attraction, along with photos and information on opening times, admission prices and directions. The Top 100 was determined by an online survey that attracted over 5,500 respondents and will be repeated annually to keep the list as updated as possible. Users can see the rankings of the attractions as they change in real time, and can also post comments and recommendations.
“The Top 100 app allows greater interaction with our visitors and raises Germany’s profile as a travel destination around the world”, says Petra Hedorfer, Chief Executive Officer of the GNTB.
New application on all GNTB Facebook pages to accompany app
As an addition to the new mobile app, which is available in English, it will be possible to follow the rankings of the tourist attractions in real time on all GNTB Facebook pages. The attractions are ranked in descending order and are continuously updated as people check into the attractions on Facebook. Users can also post comments or recommendations, and Facebook makes it quick and easy to share the app content with friends. As well as seeing the rankings change minute by minute, users can also see how other people on Facebook rate the attractions. The content generated via the GNTB’s Facebook pages will not only provide input for the new 2013 survey, but also supplement the existing content
for a new version of the app.
