Hoping to ensure its passengers get a better night’s sleep, Qantas is stepping up its international business class service with enhancements such as more comfortable Skybeds. The new service, expected to be rolled out from mid-November, will include the placement of a mattress over existing Skybeds, duvets instead of blankets and exclusive Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade amenity kits. Further enhancing the business class experience, 'Select on Q – Eat' will allow customers to have more control over their dining experience by enabling pre-booking of meals from a wider menu and choice of when they would like to dine. Qantas International chief executive, Simon Hickey, said the carrier’s aim was to put the customer at the centre of service, with the focus on offering premium class customers a better night's sleep on international flights. Mr Hickey said to make Qantas the best choice for global travellers, the airline had listened to customers and had come to understand why they chose Australia's flag carrier. “Our premium customers travelling in Business have told us they want greater choice and the ability to maximise their sleep,” Mr Hickey said. After a well received trial of Select on Q – Eat on its Los Angeles route, Qantas will look to offer its new meal service on other routes before progressively introducing the additional enhancements across its international network of A380s, B747s and A330s. |
