American Airlines will stay on Sabre: executive

Wednesday, 17 October 2012

American Airlines “fully intends” to continue distributing its fares on Sabre, regardless of the outcome of its antitrust case with the technology company in a Texas state court.

Despite the current agreement due to end in December this year - 14 days after the trail concludes, American Airlines vice president of global sales Derek DeCross said in a letter to agents, he was confident a new agreement would be signed before the contract terminates, TravelMarket Report reported.

“Regardless of what happens before, during or after the trial, American fully intends to continue participating in Sabre to ensure no disruption of your ability to continue booking American flights,” he stressed.

American Airlines and Sabre Travel Network began jury selection last week and expect opening statements and presentations to commence 22 October 2012.
