A deal is expected to close within ten days and will see Etihad purchase 24 percent of Jet Airways.

Following on from last year’s speculations, Etihad Airways is reportedly close to buying almost a quarter of Indian airline, Jet Airways.

Although only confirming talks of a possible purchase, the deal is expected to close within ten days, with Etihad anticipated to purchase 24 percent of Jet Airways for up to Rs. 1,800 crore, Hindustan Times reported.

Jet Airways said while it was in discussion with the UAE airline, “no terms have been firmed up”.

Late last year, Jet Airways and Etihad announced an expansion to their existing code share agreement on flights between from Abu Dhabi to Paris.
