Qantas has submitted an application to the International Air Service Commission (IASC), seeking an allocation of up to 180 seats weekly to the Philippines. In a statement released by the IASC yesterday, the carrier said it hoped to have the capacity fully utilised by 31 December this year. The Commission said it has opened the forum to interested parties to send an application of intent by COB 19 January 2012 with applications due by COB 26 January 2012. Meanwhile the carrier also submitted an application on behalf of its subsidiary, Jetstar to extend its Darwin – Manila services to Tokyo.
