Brisbane Domestic Airport will re-open its departures road next month, following a negative response to its new public pick-up area. Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) received more than 300 formal complaints surrounding the new pick-up system which opened in August this year. The public pick-up area was designed to reduce congestion, but the length and complexity of the walk to the pick-up area had frustrated passengers. “People are not happy with the solution we came up with, and we are now trying to find a compromise,” Brisbane Airport corporate relations manager Rachel Crowley said. The re-opening of the departures road is intended as a short-term fix and other options are being explored to deal with the increasing volume of traffic expected through the airport over the next two years. |
