The 18th edition of MITM Americas, one of Latin America’s leading MICE trade shows, is expected to generate some US$123 million (€95 million) for exhibitors who took part in the event.

Hosted this year by the Panama Tourism Authority, MITM Americas saw nearly six and a half thousand appointments take place as it brought together exhibitors from Latin America, the US and Spain with buyers from 36 countries across Europe, North, Central and South America and Asia.

In hosting the event for the first time, Panama joins the likes of Mexico, the United States, Cuba, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala and 2011 host nation, El Salvador.

Held at Panama City’s InterContinental Playa Bonita Resort and Spa, the annual gathering was officially opened by Panama’s Vice Minister of Tourism, Ernesto Orillac and visiting Costa Rica Tourism Minister, Allan Flores Moya.
