Indians leading the way to London

London is quickly picking up on the Indian traveller’s radar, with more Indians visiting the UK city than ever before.

Statistics from the London Mayor’s office found, Indian arrivals have reached a five-year high, with 28 percent more Indian travellers visiting during the first half of 2012 to 145,000 visitors from 113,000 during the same period last year, The Hindu Business Line reported.

Tourism has picked up so quickly from the region, according the Mayor’s office, that travellers from India along with wider Asia now account for almost ten percent of the city’s total tourism expenditure.

As well as tourism, London is also profiting from increased attraction from leading Indian firms in the leisure and hospitality sectors.
