This year’s Tok Tok Vanuatu is taking place between 28-31 August and will see a new famil format taking place across three of Vanuatu’s islands – Efate, Espiritu Santo and Tanna. Overseas delegates from Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Europe, and the USA will experience Vanuatu’s product and meet with suppliers in Port Vila, and Vanuatu’s outer islands, which are becoming increasingly popular with travellers. The event will begin with buyers being split into two groups to undertake famils in Tanna and Espiritu Santo where they will experience tours on the islands and inspect properties. All delegates come together on Efate in the evening of 29 August for an official welcome event at the Mele Cascades. Tok Tok then continues with two days of inspections and tours around the main island. A small trade fair will take place and there is also some time for buyers to undertake one-to-one meetings with suppliers if they desire. Tok Tok will conclude on 31 August with a product showcase and dinner at Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu in Port Vila. Buyers also have the opportunity to extend their trip with a pre or post tour on the island of Malekula. Allan Kalfabun, marketing manager at Vanuatu Tourism Office remarks, “The industry has responded very well with the new concept and our core focus of having the buyers experience our products to add to their confidence in selling Vanuatu as a preferred destination choice.” Tok Tok Vanuatu is the premier trade event in Vanuatu bringing together wholesalers and tourism operators to showcase Vanuatu’s tourism industry which represents the major revenue earner for the country of over 230,000 people. |
