Argentina is using the Rugby Championship games between Argentina’s national team Los Pumas and Australia's national team the Wallabies to attract travellers by putting Argentina on show with a series of promotional activities in Australia over the next two weeks. The National Institute of Tourism Promotion for Argentina (INPROTUR), together with the Argentine Embassy and Aerolineas Argentinas will start with an “Argentine Experience” event at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Sydney. The event will showcase a combination of tourism, Argentine flagship wine varieties including Malbec and Torrontes, plus tango dancing and a hint of friendly rugby rivalry between the two countries on 12 September. Australia’s leading tour operators and airline partners supporting travel to Argentina will attend the event, with special guests including Argentina’s Ambassador in Australia, Pedro Villagra Delgado and INPROTUR’s Promotion Director, Roberto Palais. Joined by local authorities, entrepreneurs, members of the press, and rugby personalities from both countries, the event will then move to the Gold Coast where Argentinean PUMA fans can get behind their team. The train station near Skilled Park Stadium will project images of Argentina onto a large screen, while a booth offering face painting enables fans to have the flag of Argentina painted on their face. Fans can look out for Argentina staff wearing t-shirts with their countries tourism brand : Argentina, Beats to your Rhythm. |
