Pinctada Cable Beach Resort and Spa, the flagship of Marilynne Paspaley AM's Pinctada Hotels & Resorts, has been awarded Australia’s Best Marketed Hotel in the Accommodation Division at the 2012 AHA National Awards for Excellence.
The award is the latest in a number of accolades won by the property since it opened three years ago.
Pinctada Cable Beach Resort and Spa was also inducted into the Australian Hotels Association WA (AHAWA) Hall of Fame last month for winning the Best Marketed Hotel award for three consecutive years.
Owner Marilynne Paspaley said she was humbled by the award.
“To receive this award at a national level and to have been inducted into the AHAWA Hall of Fame is a huge achievement for our team within three years of opening.
“My vision for Pinctada Cable Beach was to create a resort that truly captures a sense of destination and reflects the unique qualities of this world class region that is Western Australia's Broome and the Kimberley.
“This award acknowledges the efforts made by our talented team and brings us another step closer to realising the vision.
“We will continue striving to take the Resort to new levels in this special part of the world.”
Ms Paspaley said Pinctada Cable Beach Resort and Spa’s marketing had, since the beginning, focused on promoting the experience of the destination rather than the hotel room.
“The company’s tagline ‘personal moments, endless horizons’ celebrates the promise of the destination, with its opportunity to truly connect to oneself, one’s loved ones and the extraordinary natural wonders of Broome and the Kimberley, and the resort provides the authentic base from which to enjoy and explore,” she said.
Resort marketing is driven through numerous strategies including media familiarisation programs, consumer and trade travel shows and online presence and social media participation, but it is the emotive expression of the experience in the destination, accompanied by exceptionalphotography, that has placed Pinctada as the leader in the field.
This, and the design of the resort itself, has led to its reputation as a perfect destination for couples, recently reinforced by its inclusion as one of the carefully selected getaways in the Mr and Mrs Smith portfolio of properties.
Pinctada Cable Beach Resort and Spa was one of four Western Australian hotels to receive national awards in Hobart. The award joins a list of more than 10 awards achieved by the company over the past few years.
