Cook Islands’ tourism leaders have announced the revival of a nationwide accreditation program, designed to reassure agents and tourists that accommodation providers are meeting an agreed-upon standard. Revamping an established set of rules from 1997, the Cook Islands Tourism Industry Council and the Tourism Corporation said the new quality reassurance program will roll out in early 2013 and will set a benchmark of requirements for tourism operators over the next 15 years. Announcing the agreement earlier this week, the next phase of production will involve both parties formally launching the “improved” program, including the creation of a new logo. |
