Silversea’s Galapagos program has showed early signs of being one of their most successful since bookings for the 2013 and 2014 seasons opened last week. The 100-passenger Silver Galapagos is slated for launch in September 2013 when she will sail on two alternate seven-day itineraries to the North Central and Western regions of The Galapagos. “It speaks volumes for the brand that people are booking before even seeing the ship,” Silversea general manager and director sales and marketing Australasia Karen Christensen told e-Travel Blackboard at a media lunch yesterday. Silversea President Asia Pacific, UK and Europe Steve Odell told media at a lunch yesterday, of the detail that has gone into preparing luxury itineraries in The Galapagos. “There was nothing in the luxury sector at all. This ship will bring a whole different dimension to travelling to The Galapagos with the Silversea product onboard,” Mr Odell said. Silver Galapagos will offer as many underwater activities as land-based with wetsuits provided on board for passengers and an Ecuadorian crew and tour guides, in accordance with Ecuadorian National Park laws. Complimentary shore excursions on both itineraries to the UNESCO World Heritage Site will include; Zodiac cruises, snorkelling and guided nature hikes. |
