Daydream Island on sale

Thursday, 22 November 2012

Daydream Island Resort & Spa owner says it is the right time to look at the “next phase” of ownership.

Daydream Island Resort & Spa has launched a new marketing campaign, which will spread the word: the property is on sale and looking for 'suitable’ new ownership.

Announced this morning, Vaughan Bullivant, who has owned the resort since 2000, said while the property has always been “extremely important” to him, it was the right time to look at the “next phase” of ownership.

Although hoping to retire, Mr Bullivant explained he was actively looking for a suitable buyer that would secure the future of the resort and ensure it remains “at the forefront of tourism”.

CBRE Hotels Brisbane’s senior director Wayne Bunz has been called in to engage in the sale and expressions of interest have been called for by noon 14th March 2013.

Until the sale is made, Daydream Island Resort & Spa director of sales Ral Italiano says it is business as usual, and assured all wholesaler and travel industry agreements would be honoured.

“We’ve always had great pride in our industry partnerships and their ongoing support is essential for the island’s future,” Mr Italiano said.

The four and a half star resort has up to 296 rooms and suites, each with views of tropical waters or the rainforest.
