Chartis introduces a new way to simplify travel insurance

Wednesday, 28 November 2012

A new online travel insurance provider, Simply Travel Insurance, has been recently launched, supported by the leading global insurer Chartis.

Unlike traditional travel insurance policies, Simply Travel Insurance has partnered with Chartis to provide policies that offer a precise collection of plans and benefits that are easy for customers to understand, competitively priced and allow flexibility around the desired level of coverage.

Simply Travel Insurance was founded by a group of travel industry experts, including Geoff Pilbeam, who has more than 25 years’ experience working with leading brands such as Australian Escapes, Tourism Queensland, Ramada Hotels, Rydges Hotels, and Sunlover Holidays.

“It is our mission to provide travel insurance that is simple and cost effective. By trading online, we are able to offer the right policy at the right price,” Mr Pilbeam said.

The Simply Travel Insurance website employs an active product enhancement process, meaning the products and pricing will be tweaked at regular intervals to ensure they always remain competitive in today’s dynamic insurance marketplace.

Chartis’ Head of Consumer, Richard Todd, said Simply Travel Insurance customers would benefit from purchasing directly from the provider, avoiding excessive commissions that are often built into other insurance policies when purchased through an agent.

“This agility and constant adaptation ensures that customers are offered the best options at the best price,” said Todd.

Products from Simply Travel Insurance are targeted at specific travel categories ranging from backpackers to annual multi-trip and premium policies.
Simply Travel wanted to offer policies that are designed to give customers a choice of products at the right price,” Todd added.  “We have split various Chartis policies into different categories, making it easier to select so that the customer can purchase the product that best represents their travel requirements.”
