Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation (DMBF) Jelly Bean Ball – 2012 - Update

We’ve surpassed the four month mark, since the inaugural Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation Jelly Bean Ball held in June this year and we’d like to report that we raised in excess of $170,000 on the night!

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, and on behalf of thousands of young Australian T1 Diabetics for your attendance on the evening & all your support of the DMBF Jelly Bean Ball.  Rest assured it has been instrumental in helping us achieve a target in ways that will bring comfort and technological improvements to young people managing Type 1 Diabetes.

The Board Review Committee met on 1st September 2012 and tabled the following:

  • DMBF will remain aggressive, meeting new targets throughout 2013 and on
  • The Foundation will continue to fund-raise through future events including the June scheduled DMBF Jelly Bean Ball
  • We will continue to negotiate with Med-Tech firms, to introduce the technology required in Australia; our pledge, our mission
  • DMBF will avail funds to young people managing Type 1 Diabetes, on a one-on-one basis, with the technology - as it becomes available in Australia, in part or in full

Our mission is simple: The DMBF will do all it can and necessary, to help prevent the loss of a young person’s life dealing with Type 1 Diabetes.  And whilst helping introduce this Diabetic Pump Alarm technology might be timely, we remain at the forefront ensuring urgent delivery, again, so there’s no waste of life in the wake.

Our next scheduled major Charity Event, the 2013 Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation Jelly Bean Ball is now set for Saturday June 15th 2013 to be held at the Sydney Sofitel Wentworth Hotel – Please mark the date in your diary as a highlight event of 2013!  Again our primary focus of bringing to Australia a Diabetic Pump Alarm device that will save the lives of all those living with T1 Diabetes.

If you or your company is interested in Corporate Sponsorship, please contact Samantha Bartels on 0438445729 or email   Special thanks to the JTG Group, Qantas, Virgin Australia and Sabre Pacific as our major Corporate sponsors this year, we sincerely hope you will consider being a major part of the Danii Meads Barlow Foundation Jelly Bean Ball in 2013.  If you would like to get in early and reserve your table for the 2013 Jelly Bean Ball – please email – we expect that tickets will sell early so secure your table now.

We sincerely hope you’ll join us in support once again, in an event certain to reap benefits for both DMBF and yourself.

Yours sincerely,
Brian & Donna Meads-Barlow, and the DMBF Board.
