What happens in Vegas will now be online, with the city’s tourism bureau relaunching its destination website. Operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), LasVegas.com is a new and improved version of the group's former site; visitlasvegas.com and was designed to provide potential visitors and agents with reliable information as well as aid travel bookings. In addition, the website includes air and hotel packages, upcoming shows and events. "We host nearly 40 million annual visitors, with more than half of them using the internet to plan their trips,” LVCVA senior vice president of marketing Cathy Tull explained. “Now, LasVegas.com will provide an easy tool for our guests to research and book their ultimate Las Vegas vacation." Driving online traffic, the website will be supported with a new advertising campaign that will follow a typical American male who shares his name with the website, Mr Las Vegasdotcom. Throughout the ad he is approached by people offering him show tickets, hotel accommodation and more and he refers them back to the actual website. |
