Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald, and Goofy are on a road trip through Queensland and the Northern Territory to show audiences what a real talent search looks like in Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show this summer. With the help of Cinderella, Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear from Disney Pixar’s Toy Story! and for the first time, Tigger, they’ll put on the rockin’-est show ever to hit the road! BEFORE the show hits, we caught up with one of the stars: BUZZ LIGHTYEAR…..

I’m Buzz Lightyear, Space Ranger, Universe Protection Unit.

Nickname/s:
Buzz.  You may also call me “Space Ranger” or “Space Ranger Lightyear.”.

Famous for:
Well, as a member of the elite Universe Protection Unit of the Space Ranger Corps, I protect the galaxy from the Evil Emperor Zurg, sworn enemy of the Galactic Alliance.

Current residence:
The Gamma Quadrant of Sector Four

Hobbies:
I tell you, nothing beats an afternoon of asteroid surfing, and I do enjoy a scenic flight through the star fields. But what am I thinking?! There’s no time for frivolity when Zurg could be plotting his next attack!

What do you never travel without and why:
A Space Ranger should never embark on a mission without their standard issue laser, wrist communicator, space helmet, nava-computer, mission log, anti-gravity servos, and extra fuel cells.  Other than that, we travel light.

Favourite holiday destination:
Sector Eleven is lovely during the Galactic Summer, but I’m finding this Quadrant very pleasant as well.

Favourite movie to watch on a plane:
Regulations stipulate that all Space Rangers must remain in hyper-sleep while traveling long distances.

What would you look forward to most about visiting Australia?
As I’m told that you are home to a most incredible natural formation known as the Great Barrier Reef, I would very much like to see that. I would also like to spend as much time as possible with the locals – I am fascinated by this thing called, “Bar-B-Q.”

Do you have any tips for aspiring astronauts?
A true Space Ranger is brave, honorable, and never – EVER – gives in to the forces of evil!  Oh, and I recommend always putting on your helmet before your gloves.  Otherwise, it’s surprisingly difficult to secure those tiny buckles.
