Beautiful Danii passed away just 23 weeks ago from a Diabetic Nocturnal Hypoglycaemic Coma, and to make good from such a loss and help for this not to happen to another teen or parent, Donna and Brian Meads-Barlow are organising her inaugural Charity Ball here in Sydney at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth on the 16th June (3 days prior to what would have been Danii's 18th Birthday). The initial focus and specific goal of the "Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation" is to bring this Parent or Carer's Pump ALARM device into Australia and onto the Govt funded NDSS. The Alarm device details are best viewed here at this 4 minute video which explains exactly how the Alarm works by 2 parents and their 11 year old son (diagnosed at aged 3) - quite simply it’s a No-brainer, and it WOULD HAVE SAVED DANII'S LIFE. We hope to show this video at the Jelly Bean Ball on the night with the permission of Medtronics – the manufacturer. If you could take a moment please to listen to a recent 2UE interview, it will give you a clearer understanding of why the Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation is so special and what sets it apart with the primary aim. We are calling out for industry partners to get involved as a corporate body and as a Founding Sponsor of the Danii Meads-Barlow Foundation Jelly Bean Ball. There are a limited number of Founding Sponsorship packages, so please get behind this fantastic foundation and show your support. James Tobin (Channel 7 sunrise) is confirmed as MC who has so kindly donated his time. (His brother recently diagnosed just 18 months ago as a Type 1 Diabetic). Marcia Hines and Jack Perkins will be addressing the audience. The Australian Girls’ Choir (AGC) will open the night with “I still call Australia Home”. Danii was a leader in the Australian Girls/Sabre Choir and had been with them since aged 6. With the involvement of celebrities coupled with the high profile guests in attendance, Industry Partner’s investment as a Major Tutti Fruiti sponsorship would cost just $8,000, or Strawberry Daiquiri at $4,500 is a small amount to invest for a great cause with maximum coverage. The night is set to be Spectacular! Virgin Australia have taken out 2nd Tier Strawberry Daiquiri Sponsorship and have also donated tickets to LAX. Support shown to date from our industry partners far and wide has been fantastic with over 70 fabulous items donated for auction on the night. Tickets to the ball are $159 per adult with Tables in lots of 10. The ball includes 3 course meal, drinks, entertainment, dancing, auction items + prizes. |
