More than 220,000 travel agents have access to the Red App Centre, representing tens of millions of travellers and billions of dollars in travel annually
Third party app providers are embracing the Sabre Red App Centre in a big way, Sabre reported today. Developers from all regions are partnering with Sabre to capitalise on the opportunity to sell their apps to thousands of travel agencies. Since the launch of the Red App Centre, more than 80 third party app providers have applied to become Red App Certified Providers in order to reach the 220,000 travel agents who use the Sabre Red Workspace.
Sabre launched the Red App Centre, the first B2B app store for the travel industry, earlier this year. Since then, agencies in 20 different countries have generated more than 4,000 Red App downloads. The growing list of available apps includes apps that give travellers new services before and during their trip, and help agencies increase productivity, efficiency and revenue.
“Sabre agents book and manage tens of billions of dollars in travel every year, touching tens of millions of travellers around the globe. So it hasn’t taken long for third party app developers to see the huge opportunity in the Sabre Red App Centre,” said Sabre Pacific GM sales and product Aust/NZ, Carl Frier. “Combining the creativity of the third party developers with the innovative tools already delivered by Sabre takes the idea of a personalised workflow to a new level.”
Other developers working on Red Apps include Argentina-based technology provider APTEK who is developing an Easy Schedules Red App, Car Pilots an Australian developer who is developing a Red App to make booking of Transfers and Chauffeured vehicles easier for travel agents, and Drivania International who is building a taxi reservation Red App.
Sabre recently named Limos.com as the winner of the Sabre Red Appy Award for its powerful car services shopping and booking Red App. Agents can view all limo companies that are offered in the Limos.com system, access all-inclusive pricing includes gratuity and estimated drive times and receive an instant confirmation of bookings with a confirmation code.
Launched in March, the Sabre Red App Centre is the first online marketplace to connect travel buyers, including travel agencies, travel management companies and leisure operators, with application providers from around the world.
