DJ 564 departing 16:30 - 5 August 2012

Duration

Three hours and 50 minutes

2-4-2 in economy class

Check In Experience

Whilst there were no lines to contend with through check in, I did get stopped for a random security check which tends to happen to me more often than not because I apparently smile too much.

For the first time though, two alarms went off when scanning my bags so I was taken for a bag search and pat down by security staff.

The two female security staff were very professional and kind and I was in and out of the security room within minutes...apparently it may have been my perfume that set off the alarm...note to self, do not wear perfume when flying in future!

On Time Service

The flight departed approximately 25 minutes late but arrived ten minutes early.

Cabin/Seat Condition

The seats and cabin were in perfect condition.

Food & Beverage

I tucked into a Luke Mangan chunky beef pie again having enjoyed it so much on the flight over last week.

It would be nice to vary the menu soon though as it has remained the same for a long time and can be quite monotonous for regular fliers like myself.

Entertainment

A large array of TV programs, movies and music were on offer complimentary including my selection for the flight, Working Dog Productions' "Any Questions for Ben" and the Elvis classic "Love Me Tender" to give me my fix of the King for the day.

Having read last month's Voyeur Magazine from cover to cover on the last flight, I was pleased to see a new edition ready and waiting for me in the seat pocket. It truly is a fantastic read.

Service

The flight attendants were attentive and friendly as always with Virgin Australia.
