
Mr Greg Williams is the new general manager at Song Saa Private Island in Cambodia. Described by his team as a “great Aussie Bloke", Greg comes most recently from his role as the general manager at Alilia Sothea, another hotel in Cambodia. He has a wealth of island experience including general manager of Alila Villas Hadahaa in the Maldives and prior to that, general manager of Island Hideaway Maldives. He has also run private islands in Australia (Bedarra) and Fiji (Royal Davui and Laucala. e-Travel Blackboard took some time to talk to Greg about sunrise over Mount Everest, staff equality and island life.
What drew you to work in the travel industry?
I became a functions porter directly after school to save money to travel and after extensive travel I got the best of both worlds enjoying new places and exciting jobs in different environments
What do you like most about your job?
Mentoring staff of all nationalities, learning about new cultures and meeting a very diverse range of guests
