Get Up and Ride Launches “Classic Tour”

Thursday, 16 August 2012

Get Up and Ride LLC announced today that it will start to offer it’s “Classic” bicycle tours of Brooklyn to the general public. These guided bike tours take guests on a ten-mile ride through Brooklyn’s most popular and charming waterfront neighborhoods. The tours include the rental of all the necessary gear as well a beautifully designed, lightweight and comfortable urban bicycle.

Felipe Lavalle, Founder and CEO stated – “Our goal is to have guests feel like they’re on a bike ride with their friend. Our group sizes are small and our guides live in these neighborhoods. Our tours showcase the local art, urban marketplaces, beautiful parks, great food and interesting history of each neighborhood. Best of all, our guests ride on bikes made specifically for the city, instead of the traditional mountain bike or hybrid. The 7 Speed, diamond-frame PUBLIC bikes were shipped from San Francisco and come standard with rear-racks and baskets.”

Get Up and Ride’s “Classic Tour” starts in trendy Williamsburg and makes it’s way through Greenpoint and Downtown Brooklyn before stopping for food and drink at the Dekalb Market. The ride continues to the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights for some breath taking views of Manhattan and finishes with a ferry ride from DUMBO back to Williamsburg compliments of the East River Ferry. All along the way the guide makes stops to point out the sites and talk about the history and culture that make each neighborhood unique.

Guests can sign up for a tour by visiting the companies website. Tours depart daily at 10AM and 3PM from March – October.
