Taking time out of her busy schedule, Hollywood sensation, Valerie Azlynn tells e-Travel Blackboard why the Mystic Seaport is a must-try in New London and why she plans to gorge on food and wine in Italy soon!

e-Travel Blackboard: Having grown up in New London, Connecticut, what’s the one thing you recommend visitors must-try?

Valerie: If you get to the South Eastern shore in Connecticut, you simply must check out Mystic Seaport! It is a re-created 19th century costal village with historic ships, a working preservation shipyard, and formal exhibit galleries. It is so cool to see in person.

e-Travel Blackboard: As an actress you’d get the opportunity to film in various locations across the States, what’s been your favorite location to film in and why?

Valerie: My favorite destination so far has been Kauai. I shot Tropic Thunder there for three weeks and had such an incredible time.  It is definitely the most beautiful place I've ever been. The air is so clean!

e-Travel Blackboard: What destinations are on your travel bucket list?  

Valerie: Italy. Every time I see a movie that takes place there, it makes me realize I really need to plan a trip soon.  I want to see Tuscany and the Sea of Sardina. I want to gorge myself on food and drink great wine! 

e-Travel Blackboard: What’s a memorable travel experience you’ve had?

Valerie: I was in Paris once for two days (way too short).  I LOVED it.  I feel like I want to maybe move and live there for a couple of months to really experience the culture and the food. I remember just sitting outside in a cafe drinking amazing champagne and overlooking the Theatre Opera Bastille. It stands out in my mind as one of the most relaxing moments in my life.

e-Travel Blackboard: What are three things you must always take with you when you travel?
