Virgin Australia DJ1428 Cairns to Sydney

Monday, 10 September 2012

Carrier

Virgin Australia 737-800

Flight Number

DJ1428 departing 18:10 - 9 September 2012

Duration

Two hours and 40 minutes

Class

Economy, Seat 18F

Configuration

3-3 in economy class

Check In Experience

We arrived at the airport very early and sped through check-in with no-one in the line ahead of us.

Mum was one kilogram over with her checked baggage but was let through without incurring any additional charges.

On Time Service

We departed on time with the captain indicating that we would be making up even more time in the air.

Whilst we made twenty minutes up in the air, ground control asked the captain to circle the airport several times as there were no gates free, meaning that we arrived dead on time instead of earlier.

Cabin/Seat Condition

The seats and cabin were in great condition and the plane seemed new.

Food & Beverage

Having indulged in a late lunch, I only ordered a complimentary tea on this flight.

Entertainment

Once again there were no screens so I opted to get a little reading in instead...it's still disappointing on a long flight not to have the complimentary option of TV shows, music and movies though.

Service

Service was great, as usual, with the flight attendants very patient with what seemed like a rowdy young group of travellers on this flight.
