Melbourne Hosts EEAA Young Stars for Professional Development Seminar

Thursday, 13 September 2012

The Young Stars Program of the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) is kicking off in Melbourne with the inaugural event for that city being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday September 18.

Following its successful launch in Sydney in July, young members of EEAA have committed to an ongoing program of thought leadership and professional development.

“We’re very exciting that the Young Stars Program has been so warmly embraced by the under 35s in our Association. They have formed an active committee and are scoping the future direction of the program.” EEAA General Manager, Joyce DiMascio said.

The Melbourne event will include three presenters and will deliver attendees solid professional development content while at the same time giving younger members a chance to build their networks and contacts in the industry. The price point for the event has been set at a symbolic $35 for EEAA members to encourage participation. Non-Members can also attend for $65.

Peter King, CEO of MCEC will talk about his career transition into a leadership role in the events industry, Marie-Claire Andrews and Josh Dry from Showgizmo will present “The Social Media Concierge – making events social media easy” and Joyce DiMascio will present on “Managing your Personal Brand”.

For business owners and managers, the EEAA Young Stars Program presents an ideal forum for professional development and staff reward.

The event has been generously supported by the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
