The Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA), organisers of the Penrith Caravan, Camping and Holiday Expo (Penrith Expo), reported that last weekend’s event was the strongest in years. An estimated 27,000 people attended the Penrith Expo from Friday 7 September until Sunday 9 September at the Penrith Panthers Exhibition Centre. Lyndel Gray, Chief Executive Officer of the CCIA NSW was delighted with the success of the Expo and the positive impact it will have on the domestic holiday market. “People of all ages were out in huge numbers – from young families, to retirees and everything in between! They were actively investigating options for their next holiday, researching and purchasing their first camping products and upgrading their family caravans and luxury motorhomes. “The large visitor numbers at the Expo will have a direct impact on sales of tents and camping equipment, 4WD and touring accessories, caravans, motorhomes and holiday park bookings in future months, said Ms Gray. Exhibitors at the Penrith Expo were also delighted with the event. “It is evident that consumer confidence has returned. Our sales and the genuine interest in our products have assured us that our industry is as strong as ever. I was astounded by the lengths that visitors travelled to attend the Expo,” said Narelle Wood, Five Star Campers. “This was definitely a record Expo for me. I ran out of flyers and the queries about the park just kept coming over the three days, said Josh Taylor, Lake Keepit State Park. “It was the most exceptional show I have worked at in the last 18 months. I would go as far as saying it was the best response Bushman has received for five years. I see the weekend Expo as a turning point for the economy”, said Helen Brazel, Bushman Fridge Freezers. The Penrith Expo not only showcased 140 of the industry’s best caravan and camping dealers and manufacturers it was an enjoyable free day out for the entire family. With face painting, jumping castle, live music, fishing demonstrations and competitions. |
