Gives travel agencies and corporations better access to thousands of regional Lido AADX properties

Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, and The Lido Group, a leading independent accommodation and travel aggregator, have signed a market-first agreement to fully integrate Lido’s Australian and New Zealand Accommodation Data Exchange (AADX) content into the GDS using Amadeus LinkHotel. AADX GDS content will initially be available exclusively to Amadeus’ travel agency & corporate customers globally.

For the first time ever, AADX hotels, motels, apartments, leisure parks and B&Bs in Australia and New Zealand that have previously not been distributed in the GDS will be available to travel agents via Amadeus cryptic or Hotels Plus. The content will also be available to Amadeus customers using online tools, such as Amadeus eTravel Management (AeTM), Hotel Web Services or ePower.

Hotels distributed via Lido will have a global audience and reach of more than 400,000 travel agency terminals worldwide. Lido bookings will benefit from seamless integration between passenger name records (PNRs) and travel agency mid & back offices.

Corporations and travellers will also for the first time have access to much needed regional hotel content both within Australia & New Zealand, available for booking via the Amadeus eTravel Management self-booking tool. This reduces manual and lengthy hotel booking processes to mere seconds.

AADX bookings via the GDS can be modified or cancelled instantly, therefore providing better service to corporate clients and corporate travellers will no longer have to phone their agent to book this content, thereby avoiding ‘touched’ booking fees.

The AADX LinkHotel integration complements the Amadeus AADX Smart Tab, announced in February this year, which will continue to be used by agents for on request, group and long-stay bookings.

Steve Mackenzie, CEO, Australian Accommodation Data Exchange said “We are very excited about a full content partnership here, which is an industry first for the Pacific region. Amadeus distribution technology has been a key enabler toward realising this partnership, this will enable our partner hotels to leverage and benefit from distribution technologies therefore better responding to the evolving needs of the end traveller.

Amadeus IT Pacific Managing Director Sari Vahakoski added “This is a great win for Amadeus customers as it gives them access to relevant regional Australian and New Zealand content for the first time. We have a clear commitment to growing our relevant hotel offering for Amadeus customers and are continuously looking for efficiencies in the end-to-end travel booking process.”
