Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast has set a new Australian record for Group Buying by generating more than $3 million in revenue and selling than 17,000 room nights in a seven day campaign in partnership with Australian company Cudo.
Sea World Resort & Water Park, part of Gold Coast based Village Roadshow Theme Parks has sold more than 3400 five-night family holiday packages, more than the previous two campaigns combined.
Sea World Resort General Manager Bikash Randhawa said the result cemented the resort’s status as Australia’s number one tourist destination for families and is formal recognition of the appeal of the resort and Village Roadshow Theme Parks – Warner Bros. Movie Word, Sea World, Wet‘n’Wild Water World and Paradise Country, along with Australian Outback Spectacular.
“This result is great for the Gold Coast. It means close to 14,000 people who weren’t coming to the Gold Coast last week, are now planning to spend their vacation dollars here and that has a tremendous flow-on benefit to local businesses.
“The Cudo campaign was assisted by our strong brand reputation and the fact we are continuing to focus on creating the best customer experience for guests. That’s why so many people are staying here and coming back year after year.
“Here at Sea World Resort we have invested significant capital by renovating our rooms and introducing new attractions like the water park ‘Nickelodeon SplashBash’ with its spectacular musical fountain and LED light show. It’s all about making the holiday experience the best that it can possibly be,” said Mr Randhawa.
“We have had exceptional occupancy rates for more than 12 months while maintaining a healthy room rate which is a further indication that we are attracting not only tourists but corporate travellers and convention business. We believe a large number of repeat guests have taken advantage of this special package deal with Cudo because it provides great value and unrestricted access to theme parks. We thank them for being part of this incredible result.”
Cudo CEO Mike Sneesby said with more than 3400 holiday packages sold the campaign was the largest grossing group buying campaign ever in Australia and one of the most successful of its kind in the world per capita.
“It is fantastic to set a new benchmark for group buying in Australia and we are delighted that together with the team from Sea World Resort and Village Roadshow Theme Parks we have been able to bring such an amazing offer to Cudo customers.”
Sea World resort’s popularity Australia-wide combined with the exceptional customer experience at the Sea World Resort, underpinned this week’s latest Sea World Resort offer which finished this week.
Mr Sneesby said the result clearly demonstrates the power of group buying when combined with a powerful brand that has a strong reputation for excellence in tourism.
