TravelManagers ‘work together’ in Fiji

Friday, 9 November 2012

The TravelManagers 2012 National Conference kicked off Fiji today, with up to 120 personal travel managers flying in to get the latest updates and pick up new tools to grow their business.

Running from 9 November to 11 November at the Sofitel Resort and Spa on Denarau Island, agents will undergo a number of team building exercises, reconnect with fellow travel managers as well as receive updates from wholesalers and product managers.

TravelManagers chairman Barry Mayo told e-Travel Blackboard earlier this week that the objective of the 2012 conference was to not only instil the benefits of working together but also provide content to assist personal travel managers (PTMs) “grow their businesses and improve their income”.

“The major difference between this year’s conference and past year’s conferences is recognition of the community in which we live and work or have involvement with via our clients and their travel experiences and giving back to those communities,” he explained.

As part of this year’s working together exercises, travel managers will help paint the interior and exterior of a local primary school as well as assist in maintenance projects on school grounds.

“The activity at Votualevu Primary School is central to the recognition of the importance of community and the giving back to community allowing us to make a contribution to a community in a destination that plays an important part in TravelManagers’ product offering.”
