LOT welcomes Europe’s first Dreamliner

Europe’s first Dreamliner touched down in Warsaw this week, as LOT Airlines welcomed the arrival of its first 787 aircraft.

The plane was flown into Warsaw Chopin Airport from the Boeing factory in Seattle by captains; Jerzy Makula, Marian Wieczorek, Jaroslaw Zimmer and Krzysztof Lenartowicz as well as two instructors from Boeing.

The aircraft has been fitted with panoramic windows to ensure every passenger has a view outside as well a dynamic led lighting so the feel of daylight can accompany customers across the globe.

The LOT Dreamliner offers three classes of service - Elite Club (business) with 18 fully reclinable seats, new Premium Club with 21 seats and economy class for 213 passengers.

The aircraft is 56.72 meters long, its wing span is 60.13 meters, the range is 12 000 km and has a cruising speed is 875 km/h.

The plane will be used on commercial flights to Prague from 14 December this year and will move onto trans-Atlantic flights to Chicago from 16 January next year.

The aircraft will also be used on services to Toronto from 1 Feberuary 2013 as well as New York from 3 March 2013.
