Cook Islands Tourism has launched a major promotion to stimulate summer and autumn visits. All Australian travellers flying Air New Zealand to Rarotonga, Cook Islands, before 3 June 2013 will be given a NZ$100 gift card to spend on their holiday. The $100 Cooks Cash promotion is valid for all new bookings from 6 December 2012 to 4 March 2013 and applies to travel from 6 December 2012 to 3 June 2013. All members of a travelling party, except infants, will receive a Westpac Visa Debit Card credited with $100; so a family of four would receive $400 spending money between them (enough to each enjoy a lagoon cruise or 4WD safari tour or pay for a week’s car hire). The $100 credit can be widely redeemed throughout the islands at vendors with a Westpac Eftpos terminal. These are found at a wide range of visitor attractions and services, including restaurants, hotels, rental car companies and tour operators. Once clients have made a booking, they simply register with their Air New Zealand ticket number(s) and accommodation name at www.cookislands.travel/AusCooksCash. On arrival in the Cook Islands, clients head to the Visitor Information Centre in Avarua town centre, with photo ID, to collect their cards. Bonus discounts for travellers on the Air New Zealand direct flight Additionally, passengers on the Air New Zealand direct Sydney-Cook Islands (Rarotonga) service each Saturday night will receive a special ‘Cooks love Aussies’ wristband and specials booklet providing discounts on various activities around Rarotonga. Agent incentive The Cooks Cash promotion will be supported by a four month advertising campaign in major newspaper travel sections and trade media. It will also be complemented with a trade incentive to win one of 7 places on a famil to the Cook Islands in May 2013. To be in the running simply register at www.cookislands.travel/cookscashincentive and complete the Cooks Cash questions. Winners will be notified. “We’re encouraging our industry partners to get behind this major campaign to stimulate bookings over the summer months. Our website www.cookislands.travel will be frequently updated with the best deals for Australian holidaymakers and with a bonus $100 Cooks Cash for everyone, the Cooks will be offering unbeatable value over the next six months,” says Cook Islands Tourism Corporation General Manager – Australia Kerryn Cook.
